So, stable version of WordPress 2.9 is available for download now. I upgrade the main site and our theme demo site. Although WordPress admin panel has option of automatic upgrade, but I prefer manual upgrade. So, I followed the manual upgrade process. Upgrade process was very smooth. It took around 15-20 minute  to upgrade both sites.

Version 2.9 claim to provides the smoothest ride yet because of a number of improvements under the hood and more subtle improvements. You can read list of some improvements here.
