Yesterday, when I logged in WordPress admin panel of this site, I saw the upgrade message. So, stable version of WordPress 2.9 is available for download now. I upgrade the main site and our theme demo site. Although WordPress admin panel has option of automatic upgrade, but I prefer manual upgrade. So, I followed the manual upgrade process. Upgrade process was very smooth. It took around 15-20 minute to upgrade both sites.

Version 2.9 claim to provides the smoothest ride yet because of a number of improvements under the hood and more subtle improvements. You can read list of some improvements here.

You can download the latest stable version of WordPress here. If you wish to do manual upgrade then here is the steps by step guide.
